The race will be operated on a 'crusing in company basis'.
Entrants in the race/cruise will adhere to the international regulations for preventing collisions at sea.
The racing rules will not apply with one exception. Yachts are allowed to luff gently as long as amply warning is given and all contact is avoided.
The start will be in the west Kyle (in the Tignabruaich area), details at the skippers briefing. It may not be a windward start. No luffing before the start.
The course will be given at the skippers briefing. Skippers will be asked to record their time at certain positions in case of shortened course.
The finish line will be off Tarbert, details at the skippers briefing. No luffing at the finish line.
SOLAS states that all skippers must have a passage plan. Skippers are responsible for the safety of the vessel and the crew and must ensure safe practises are followed.
Spinnakers are allowed.
Details of how the optional cruiser race on Sunday will be run will also
be given at the skippers briefing.
