Why should I create an event?

1. Because that's how sailing happens, someone describes it, sets a place, date and time.

2. You want to sail but can't see an event that suits you

3. You need others

What is a Yotlinx Event?

1. Don't get hung up on the 'Event' word, its just any sailing trip, your sailing trip.

2. It is any sailing you want to do, an afternoon cruise, a holiday in the Med, a corporate multi-yacht regatta, a round the world cruise. You name it, literally!

What happens when I create an event in Yotlinx?

1. Your event shows up in the site under 'View Events'. It is visible to all and full members can register their interest.
2. You become, and are shown as, the event organiser, by user ID.

3. The site will mail you each time someone registers an interest in your event.

4. You can edit/maintain your event status and contact registered interests when you are logged on, from the Members Menu >Member Home > under 'My Events'

How do I create an event?

1. You need to be a Yotlinx member to create events

2. Logon and click on 'Create an Event' from the main menu.

3. Complete the form and click on the 'Create Event' button at the bottom of the form.

5. All event data can be updated by you in the future.

Guidance and Rules for Creating an Event

• Event Name: Keep it short but descriptive

• Location: Provide specific location, county or state, country.

• Description: Add a concise text description of the event, what you want as organiser. The WYSIWYG editor will allow you to add photo's and links which is very useful but where the rules come in.'IT IS VITAL THAT YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THE SITE RULES.' PLEASE CLICK HERE TO READ?. They are very short!

• Start and End Dates: Don't forget to add these.

• Organisational Affiliation: If your event is being created on behalf of an organisation registered with Yotlinx, choose the organisation from the from the drop-down menu, otherwise choose None or Other

• Priorities: If you event is created on behalf of a club, you may wish to indicate priority for applicants.

• Planned Event Size: Complete this to indicate event size

• Places/ boats still available/required: Indicate here how many of the above places are still available. You can also indicate here if you still require a boat.

• Status: This will be Open for a newly created event.

Press Create Event and you are done!
